I have an ITE aid that needs repair and the person I used to deal with has retired. Do you do repairs, and what is the price? How long does it take to get back? Thanks, Brody (Back to Top) Hello Brody,
Certainly, we can take care of things for you. Normal repair price is $85.00 for a repair with a six month warranty. This pricing is for conventional analog aid repairs. For a 12 month warranty, add $25. If your aid is an analog programmable insrument, add $40. If the aid is a digital aid, add $90 over the regualr $85 price. The manufacturers charge a lot more for repairing digital hearing aids vs. the older technology ones.
Send it in to us in a sturdy box. Our address is: LLOYD HEARING AID CORP. Attn. Repair Dept. P.O. Box 1645 Rockford, IL 61110
Repairs usually take about two weeks. Thanks for the email. We look forward to working with you.

I have a "Simply Soft" ITE hearing aid that has gone completely dead. It failed all at once. I tried changing the battery, but it made no difference. What would be the charge to repair? Does this include shipping? Thank you. (Back to Top) This is the problem with the Simply soft aids.........when it's time to repair, the factory has to basically rip the aid apart to get to the defective component. It completely messes up the silicone shell. It's because of repair problems that we stopped selling this product 3 or 4 years ago. But they are repairable. Only the original factory will repair them. No all-make facility (where pricing is more reasonable) will take them on. Thus, repair rates are not so competitive......sorry.
The cost is $125 to repair....this comes with a six month warranty (add $25 for a 12 month warranty). That price also includes shipping back to you. If interested in proceeding, send it in to:
Repair Dept. LLOYD HEARING AID CORP. 4435 Manchester Drive Rockford, IL 61109
You should include check or credit card # with order. Also include your phone number in case we need to reach you. It would be a good idea to make a copy of this email and include it in with the aid. Thanks for your interest in Lloyds. I hope we'll have a chance to serve you.

My Siemens BTE hearing aid went through the washing machine and will not work. Can it be repaired? (Back to Top) We'll be glad to get it repaired for you at a discount from any local hearing aid office. Our standard price for repair is $90.....this comes with a six month warranty. If you want a 12 month warranty, add $25. This pricing is for analog aids. If you have a high-tech digital aid, the cost would be $180 for a repair. If you want to send it in for a repair quote prior to our doing any work, feel free to do so. Also, it doesn't matter about it going through the washing machine. It still ought to be fine to have repaired. This is a more common occurrence that one might think. Thanks for the email and we do look forward to serving you. Our address is:

I have a Oticon DigiFocus, approximately 9 years old.. The plastic end that the ear hook screws on has broken off.. Is it possible to obtain the male end that fits between the case sides of the aid? Thank you... Kenn (Back to Top) Sorry, but the answer is no. When that mounting screw becomes loose or comes out, it means that the casing of the hearing aid has deteriorated and must be replaced. There is no repairing of it.......it can't be made strong enough to last by means of repair. To get the aid repaired and re-cased, cost would be $170 ($90 for the repair and $80 for the new case). That would give you a six month warranty on the aid. But if the aid is 9 years old, you really should be thinking about getting a new one. The average life of an aid (nationwide) is between 5 to 6 years, so yours is pretty much operating on borrowed time. We might still be able to get that old aid repaired, but the question for you is whether you want to put that much money into a very old instrument or else opt for a brand new one with today's better, digital technology that might run $600 - $800. Your call. Let us know of your decision. Thanks for the email. We look forward to serving your hearing needs. |
I would like to ship my broken hearing aid for you to duplicate. I will send hearing test papers with it. Are you able to duplicate it, and will it fit the same? Also, how do i know what it will cost? (Back to Top) Hello Jerry,
Thanks for the email. We certainly should be able to get a duplicate aid made for you. You mentioned the two items needed for proceeding with getting this done....that is the copy of your hearing test along with the old aid. We use this method a lot and it always works out just fine. An old aid IS a casting of your ear, so you wouldn't have to do the impression kit process which many of our customers utilize. The factory will use your old aid to make a "reverse impression" so when they cast a new aid, it can only be the exact size and shape of your old one. Your old aid will come back to us (and you) without having to be destroyed in the process.
As to cost of a new one.....there are two factors that enter into the cost equation. The minor one is the size of the aid you would be buying (this is not nearly as much of a factor in the cost equation as it was several years ago). The second and most important factor is which level of technology - what sort of electronic circuitry - you want to have built into the new aid. We carry all levels of circuitry from the simple, older (and less expensive) analog circuits up to the very latest high-tech digital state-of-the-art circuitry. The price range is huge from the least tech up to the highest. You have to review our website to get a better idea of what options are available. Even at that, know that we dispense a ton of hearing aid models which are not featured on the website. Your best bet would be to send in the old aid and and before anything gets done, request that one of our dispensers give you a call to discuss options. This won't obligate you to anything at all. But after seeing what you have been using and talking to you about what sort of performance you may want from a new aid, we can give you some good suggestions and recommendations and specific prices. Thank you very much for the email. I hope we'll have a chance to serve your hearing needs.

Is the $90.00 repair charge refundable if my hearing aid is not repairable? (Back to Top) Yes, absolutely. We will neither cash a check nor run a credit card until we know for sure that a person's aid is repairable. We have many customers who send in old aids for us to evaluate before any work is done. In many of those cases customers request us to contact them with our diagnosis and/or opinion as to whether a repair is viable or whether they're spending good money on a losing cause. We do subscribe to the principle of a customer getting as much mileage as possible from any hearing aid, and we'll help them do that. But there is a point when an aid is simply beyond reasonable fixing. And Lloyd's will give you an honest answer to that question. |
The thin connecting plastic tube on my Siemens BTE broke away from the ear piece. Can you repair it? (Back to Top) Yes, I'm certain the aid can be repaired. We have all the pieces for Siemens BTE aids. You probably can install the piece yourself right at home, actually. Per your email, question - do you have one of Siemens "open-ear" style of hearing aids with the very narrow, thin tubing? Or is yours the traditional BTE with the thicker tubing and a custom earmold? The thicker tubing attaches to what is called an earhook - that is a curved part that screws onto the end of the hearing aid itself and wraps around the top and front part of the ear, then the thicker tubing slides over that earhook. Any of the above parts can easily be replaced by the user. We just need to know for sure what style of BTE you are talking about, then we can send you the part. These are only a few dollars for earhooks or tubings and they all screw on/screw off. One other thing, if you have the open-fit type of BTE, there will be a size stamped on the end of the tubing down by where the little earpiece attaches onto the end of that tubing. It should say something like 2R or 2L, or 3R or 3L, etc. The number designates for the length of that open-fit tubing, and the R & L designates whether it's for the right or left side. Check that out if you have this type of tubing. Hope this all helps. Email back and we can get you squared away very economically! Thanks for the email. We appreciate your interest in Lloyds.
